Mangata Networks, a global satellite communications and AI-enabled edge cloud services company and Ubix, a leading provider of satellite, mobility, and telecommunications services in Mexico and Latin America, have agreed to collaborate to distribute connectivity and edge solutions throughout the region.
Seattle, WA, USA and Monterrey, Mexico – July 25, 2024
This strategic agreement brings together the expertise and capabilities of both companies to enable the creation of innovative and market-specific solutions that solve the needs of enterprise and government customers.
Mangata Networks will deploy a multi-orbit constellation of HEO (highly elliptical orbit) and MEO (medium Earth orbit) satellites, combined with MangataEdge™, their AI-enabled edge cloud computing solution. The introduction of a high-capacity, high-throughput, low-latency network provides a solid foundation to develop and power the most resource intensive software applications, whether they run at the edge or in the cloud.
Mexico has long been a leader in its efforts to achieve national coverage and Mangata’s offering provides the solution to address and improve the connectivity gaps that exist today.
As more multi-nationals look towards Mexico as a strategic manufacturing and distribution hub for the North & South American markets, Mangata and Ubix’s combined capabilities will create value by providing a more robust infrastructure to connect and coordinate operations across Mexico and the world. This infrastructure can also be used to improve rural connectivity offering access to the internet and to key public services like education and healthcare.
“UBIX is a wonderful partner with a trusted brand, long track record of success, and connections across the region, particularly in key, high priority sectors such enterprise telecommunications, oil and gas, manufacturing, and agriculture that are increasingly reliant on digital solutions for remote monitoring and automation. We are excited to be working alongside them to serve these markets”, said Mangata’s Chief Commercial Officer, Jerome Hewlett.
“Mangata is building a set of solutions that are in high demand, but which existing suppliers have struggled to provide: a high quality, flexible solution, at a reasonable price. We are excited to add Mangata’s edge and satellite products into our product offerings for Mexican enterprises, and the public sector, particularly national security”, said Ubix CEO, Sebastian Monterrubio.
